The Mona Lisa Cried: Another Poem

63

By mathiaskain

The legend goes, that the day Da Vinci died

His masterpiece stared out in mourning

The Mona Lisa cried

Her face it was no longer

Quite as beauteous as it had been

Oh how tears stained her canvas

Her maker, she missed him

Now each of them, masterpiece and artist

Are each acclaimed in their own rights

but still the tale of woe persists

That the Mona Lisa cried
